New call-to-action

Dear Parents, Students, and Guardians,

With over 600 students on our 6-8 campus, we realize that our drop off and pick up can come with challenges. To assist with the flow of traffic and keep our children safe, the following expectations should be followed:

  • All staff our staff is on duty to help and keep students safe. They are following the traffic flow expectations that are provided in the attached map demonstrating the new locations to drop off and pick up students.
  • Pull all the way to the stop sign in the pick-up lane.
  • Do not pick-up or drop-off in the drive thru lanes in the parking lot or on the streets surrounding Crockett. Even though it may feel like a time saver for the individual family, it slows the flow of traffic and it is not safe.
  • Do not get out of your car to assist your child in the drop off lane. If you child needs assistance, please park.
  • Pick up your child in the designated pick up area located at the front of our campus, along the East side of Monroe St. or in the front pick up lane.
  • Follow the flow of traffic and do not run over cement dividers or cones to create your own path or use the handicap space to create your own lane.
  • Our surrounding streets and neighborhoods are not supervised by staff at Crockett Middle School. If you choose this as a meeting point for your child, remind your children to be respectful and be a good neighbor.
  • Over 600 children are watching you. Children learn how to be patient, persevere, and overcome challenges by the behaviors the adults in their community model on a daily basis.

The Pecos ISD Police Department has assigned Officer Saldaña as our campus School Resource Officer. If you have any questions or concerns about parking lot safety or unsafe drivers, please call Officer Saldaña at 432-447-7461. Our hope is that we can all work together to create a safe drop off and pick up for our community and most of all for our children. Thank you for your help in ensuring that Crockett Middle School provides a safe arrival and dismissal. We look forward to a great rest of the year.

Thank you.
